Mommy Blows a Gasket

For the record, I still love Dan Riehl as much as ever..........which is a lot. I respect him as much as ever.........which is a lot. He's actually a journalist while I'm just a Mommy blogger, albeit one who has paid her dues voting for delegates and as a poll worker, as well as one who has knocked on doors for candidates. I'd still be doing that if I were physically capable of it.

I blew a gasket on Dan tonight, though, in response to his post at PajamasMedia from two days ago which I had missed until tonight. A lot of the frustration I've been feeling over the past year just came to a head and I lost it. The comment I left is below. I don't like the anger I am feeling, but I have to vent it and I think there are a lot of people out there who feel the same way.

Dan, before that NRCC donation I would have totally agreed with you. That rocked me. Six figures??? I'm stunned. Yes, everything you say here *would* have been true, if not for that six-figure donation from the NRCC.

Suffice it to say that I am really looking forward to reading Sarah Palin's book and I'm hopeful that she is candid and names some names.

I'm quite convinced that Sarah Palin was intentionally sabotaged on the various invitations, to just make her look bad, and on the fundraiser itself, they tried to push off that Ryan TARP-supporter guy from Wisconsin as a "Palin substitute" because he's got sex appeal and has some conservative credentials (other than TARP). He was given the spot of introducing Gingrich which was supposed to go to Palin. There was a certain "unnamed" GOP Senator from a "battleground state" who dissed her in comments that night.........I could go on and on and on with this. I'm telling you, I'm not having any more of it.

There was a great article at Politico today regarding the Hoffman endorsement where several people were quoted. Palin was extensively quoted from her Facebook post.........and it ended with an **anonymous** GOP "insider" whose opinion means nothing to me. Why should it? He/she won't add his/her name to the comment. Why are they afraid to add their names to comments about the grassroots who have been alienated?? These weasels need to go NOW or the party is going to go down with them.

They all need to have some humility and RESIGN because the trashing has come from them "anonymously" every time Palin gets some good ink. We are not amused by calls for us to "play nice" with the GOP when they are clearly out to destroy her and the momentum of the grassroots conservatives under her leadership.

Sure, they didn't choose Scozzafava, but a six-figure donation??? Please. *URP*

Nothing personal. I love ya, Dan, but no more for me.......until I see what Palin is going to do. Can't wait for Palin's book.

Read Dan's post here.

UPDATE: Incidentally, does anyone have any suggestions about what I should do with the NRSC fundraising letter we got yesterday? It wasn't addressed to either of the two adults in the house who voted in 2008. We don't get fundraising letters from them. No, it was addressed to my dad who passed away in 2000 and never voted for a Republican in his life.

Nun Participates Actively in Abortion; Says Church is Immoral

There is a saying among Catholics that the road to hell is paved with the skulls of bishops. It is rooted in our belief that those who are responsible for teaching others will suffer the consequences if they teach error and thereby lead others into sin.

All Catholics are called to live and teach the Gospel on whatever level others may be able to understand. We are often called to "feed milk, not solid food" to those who are not able to understand some teachings of the Church, but we are never allowed to teach things willfully that are contradictory to the doctrine of the Church no matter how difficult it may be for the hearer to hear the truth.

Since the "sexual revolution", the teachings which have resulted in the greatest dissent have been the teachings regarding sexuality. It is fair to say that Western culture's acceptance of abortion as a norm has occurred in direct proportion to its acceptance of promiscuity as a norm; and the more misery is unleashed upon the lives of those who do not lead lives of chastity, the more the non-Christian culture seems to cling to error.

Some reject the truth so defiantly that they will not only accept abortion as a norm but will work to expand it. There are many sins which this level of dissent may be rooted in. Only God knows with certainty which sin is driving dissent within an individual's heart. We humans are more limited in our ability to make such judgments.

Because of our limitations, God has blessed us with certain doctrines which, in no instance, should ever be willfully broken because doing so separates us from Him. These are outlined so clearly that there really can be no doubt about them among those willing and able to investigate them. Abortion is one of those things. Abortion is the murder of an innocent, but not even merely that. It also causes everyone who participates in it to be separated from God.

I'm not sure what it is that would drive a nun to work as an abortion clinic escort, leading innocent lambs to the slaughter, while calling the Church which condemns the activity "immoral". It is not something I can even get my mind around. Abortion is a holocaust. We have, in this nun, a very active enabler of the holocaust of children. She is allowed to continue in her work unhampered in an age when a Catholic priest who protests is hauled off to jail. In a more just society, it is the nun who would be hauled off to jail for participating in the murder of a child, not the priest for protesting it.

Please read more at LifeSiteNews and consider sending a respectful note of concern to the Dominican community of which this nun is a member. Instructions are at the bottom of the article.

Mark Levin on Sarah Palin's Endorsement of Doug Hoffman

Via Right Pundits:

The video below includes audio of Mark Levin announcing the news that Sarah Palin endorsed Doug Hoffman in NY-23. Levin reads her press release in full.

Did Levin's voice crack a bit at the end when he said Sarah Palin's name? I think that may be the sound of relief and of hope for a brighter future in America.

Hoffman Interview with Glenn Beck

Doug Hoffman is the Conservative Party candidate running against a liberal Democrat and a liberal Republican in New York's 23rd Congressional District. (Read Doug Hoffman's bio here.) In response to the GOP decision to put a liberal in this race, conservatives across America, including Sarah Palin, are endorsing Hoffman. The race has become symbolic of conservative outrage against the liberalization of both parties, but particularly the Republican party.

NY-23 is a conservative district in upstate New York and if Doug Hoffman is able to get his message out, he can win this race. It's important that the voters of NY-23 understand what their choices are in this race. Neither the Democratic Party nor the Republican Party have a candidate in NY-23 who is representative of the majority of voters in the district. On October 20, before Palin's endorsement, Chris Cillizza reported that internal polling showed that the liberal Republican is in third place. Hoffman has momentum and the Palin endorsement can help a large number of voters better understand who the conservative in the race really is.

Glenn Beck recently interviewed Doug Hoffman so that voters can get to know him better. I'm adding the videos below for informational purposes. Mind you, if not for the hundreds of thousands of dollars the Republican Party has thrown into the race to support a pro-abortion candidate that is not in line with the voters of the district, I would not be commenting on this race. This is a defensive act!!

Patrick Kennedy is Irresponsible, Ignorant and a Disappointment to the Catholic Church

In an interview with CNS, Congressman Patrick Kennedy said that the bishops are not pro-life and are "fanning the flames of dissent and discord" because they are opposed to healthcare reform on the basis that it covers abortion. CNS has video.

Kennedy's own shepherd, Bishop Thomas Tobin of Providence, RI, responded in a press release in which he called Kennedy's comments "irresponsible and ignorant of the facts". He said that Kennedy is a "disappointment to the Catholic Church". He further said that Kennedy owes the bishops an apology. Finally, Bishop Tobin said, "It is my fervent hope and prayer that he will find a way to provide more effective and morally responsible leadership for our state."
Patrick Kennedy is the son of the late Senator Ted Kennedy, also a pro-abortion Catholic whose biggest issue was universal health care.
Truth be told, the "flames of dissent" are always fanned when those who dissent so deeply -- even to the point of rejecting innocent children in the womb -- are called out for their actions. To the faithful who must suffer in anguish as we watch from the sidelines while our Catholic brethren participate in abortion, this fanning from the bishop is a cool breeze which brings much relief.
Thanks, Bishop Tobin, for the refreshment.

Palin Raises the Stakes in New York's 23rd District

John Fund writes at the Wall Street Journal:

Sarah Palin's decision to endorse the Conservative Party candidate in an upstate New York special election for Congress has dramatically raised the stakes in the race.

Unfortunately, Fund fails to mention the very important back story being covered by Robert Stacy McCain and others, especially here and, oh yeah, HERE.

The NRCC contribution is just tooooooo wrong. Fund should have noted it in his article.

Rand Paul's True Colors are Beginning to Show

For those who've been insisting Rand Paul is pro-life.....

from the Courier-Journal:

And on abortion, Paul expressed discomfort with federal laws but said he “probably” would have voted for a federal ban on a procedure that has been called partial-birth abortion by its opponents.

PROBABLY?????? What the......???

And this:

He acknowledged such a position conflicts with his states-rights position but said, “Some things may be so primary that we have to consider protection at the federal level.”

Making it illegal for a doctor to stab a baby in the back of the head and suck its brains out "may be" a "primary" issue??? He's not sure? (Slapping self on forehead.)

Do read the whole article.

I wrote last night that Kentucky is a conservative Democrat state and that a Rand Paul win in the primary would virtually ensure a win for the Democrats. [See Rand Paul, Libertarian Masquerading as a Republican] I had hoped he wouldn't be able to pull the wool over the eyes of Kentuckians in time to win the primary, but Rand Paul's true colors are showing through more clearly at a more rapid rate than I expected. I'm sure he knows that Kentucky is socially conservative with a long record of electing pro-lifers from both parties. He surely also knows that the more he talks about his position on issues like partial-birth abortion, gay marriage, and the legalization of drugs, the less Kentucky voters are going to want to vote for him. The C-J article demonstrates his reluctance to talk about these issues and they are issues that Kentuckians have been talking about for eons.

Folks in other states seem intent on electing Rand Paul to be my Senator. From the article:

Right now, Paul's financial support is generally coming from the national network of donors that his father gathered during his presidential campaign last year.

Paul says this is a good thing.

“We don't run away from the fact that we do have a national base of supporters,” Paul said. “…We'd rather, instead of running away from it, brag about the fact that, look, would Kentucky like to have a senator who's a national figure and attracts attention from all over the country.”

When Obama's "Organizing for America" bused in people from out-of-state to attend townhalls, the Tea Party movement was up in arms......and rightly so. I wonder how many of Rand Paul's supporters have complained about astroturfing from Democrats.

Politicians are always trying to take a negative and turn it into a positive. In Rand Paul's case, there are too many issues that, no matter how much he may try to pretty them up, amount to his putting lipstick on a pig.

Wake up, Kentucky. There is a true conservative running. Bill Johnson for Senate!
